This issue, the first of volume 9, marks the beginning of the Acta Cirúrgica Brasileira in English language.
As we began 1986, we had several goals: to enhance Acta Cir. Brás. position as the leading journal dealing with EXPERIMENTAL SURGERY, to publish new basic and clinical research, to publish reviews that provided an overview of surgical techniques, to publish summarized Master and PhD Theses in experimental surgery, to publish articles on teaching and continuous education in Surgery.
